First I’d like to say that I’m watching Gangs of New York in Spanish and I totally forgot John C. Reilly is in the movie! All I can picture is him and Will Ferrell…
“Did we just become best friends?”
“Yep”
“Do you wanna go do karate in the garage?”
“Yep”Play Audio…will open in a new tab/window

Self timers are awesome!
Back to the blog. Now I must say that one of the nicest things down here is not having to be anywhere at any time. No one is in a rush. Everyone is laid back and won’t hesitate to stop and chat. This is somewhat of a luxury for me considering I actually have a handful of jobs outside of my company.
I was determined to get up a bit earlier and get to the beach and find this secret beach/snorkeling spot. So I made it to the beach by 11 hoping I would have enough time to cross the cave of death. Not a chance. I have a feeling I must go at the lowest tide. Any other time and it’s a deathtrap. Instead I went to the south side of Ocotal and I wanted to see how far I could make it. I found a mini beach that disappears at high tide connecting the main beach and the small round island. There looked to be some decent snorkeling there but with the waves coming in the last thing I wanted to do was get bashed into the rocks.
I made my way out far enough to see Pez Veela about a half mile away and then decided it was time to make the trip back to Ocotal before the tide put me in a dangerous spot. I made it back safely and read away for a couple hours. Finished the latest Inc. Magazine (great little Q & A about SEO consultants and what they actually cost…starting at a few thousand dollars if you were interested) and made a bit more headway in my Costa Rican Spanish book as well. I seem to pick up a few things every day. There is also a great learning resource over at the BBC called Mi Vida Loca which is a series of movies/interactive games to help you learn Spanish…and it’s free. It’s Castilian Spanish but you can still learn quite a lot. There are over 20 segments with videos and games.

Going after the fishies
So after my reading I called it a day and headed back to my condo for lunch. Once finished I had a look at my pics and then had a look at my shoulder…red. Not good. Now at 12:45am it’s not just my shoulders but random strips. One on my forearm through bicep. One down my right shin. One across my waist. Now fortunately it is only a mild burn and I will be extra careful tomorrow and probably only stay out for an hour or two. I don’t want any repeats of “Sufferin’ Sam” from back in the day. When you get sun poisoning once you never want it again so BE CAREFUL. I’ll make the jump to SPF 30 tomorrow just in case.
I want to thank everyone for the comments on the posts so far, especially Spoonie Love. Notice the most recent comments are now featured in the right sidebar. I bet people are wondering if I am actually doing work here but the answer is yes. Today I completed 4 coded page templates that will be used in a site-wide redesign for a client as well as about 2 hours of general maintenance on 2 other client sites. This is all on top of my typical client communications as well. Stay tuned because I think I am going to do a video post attempt, a la Viddler, tomorrow to supplement the regular post. New photos are up as well. Pura Vida!
